In a significant move towards trade digitization and faster certification, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has announced the pilot launch of Bharat Aayat Niryat Lab Setu, as per Trade Notice No. 14/2025-26.
What is Lab Setu?
Lab Setu is a digital single-window platform that connects exporters, importers, and accredited testing and inspection agencies across India. The system aims to make testing and certification of goods faster, paperless and transparent, while improving global trust in India’s quality infrastructure.

Implementation Timeline
November 4, 2025: Onboarding of testing and inspection agencies
November 11, 2025: Exporters and importers can begin submitting applications through the portal
During this pilot phase, exporters can continue using existing testing procedures in parallel to ensure a smooth transition and collect user feedback for system improvement.
How It Works
Exporters can log in using their DGFT credentials, apply for product testing, upload sample details, pay applicable fees online and track progress through the portal. Once approved, digital test certificates will be issued and available for download.
Testing agencies, including those under the Tea Board, Coffee Board and Rubber Board, are being onboarded first, followed by other government and private laboratories.
