The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has announced a major update to its Trade Connect ePlatform through Trade Notice No. 15/2025-26, expanding the eligibility for Indian exporters to register on the “Source from India” service.
What is “Source from India”?
“Source from India” is a flagship initiative under DGFT’s Trade Connect platform, designed to connect international buyers directly with verified Indian exporters. It serves as a digital showcase where exporters can create their own microsite featuring their company profile, product catalogues and credentials.
What’s New?
Until now, the service was available only to Status Holder Exporters. Starting 1st November 2025, the eligibility criteria have been broadened to include all valid IEC holders (not in the DEL list) who meet the following condition:
Have achieved a minimum export realisation of $100,000 in at least one of the previous three financial years.
The DGFT’s eBRC database will be the sole reference point for verifying export realisation and determining eligibility.
Why It Matters
This change empowers a much larger segment of Indian exporters — especially SMEs and first-generation exporters — to gain global visibility.
Indian Missions abroad have also been directed to use the “Source from India” portal to connect foreign buyers with verified Indian suppliers, enhancing business matchmaking.
How to Register
Eligible exporters can log into the Trade Connect ePlatform, where the option to create a “Source from India” microsite will automatically appear on their dashboard. A detailed user guide is provided by DGFT for step-by-step registration.
